Police in Aarhus are bracing for large crowds and intense emotions as AGF faces Brøndby in a crucial Superliga match on Sunday, with plans in place for both victory and defeat scenarios, reports Danish broadcaster DR.

If AGF wins and FC Midtjylland drops points against FC Nordsjælland the same day, the city could erupt in celebration, authorities warn. Østjyllands Police have conducted a threat assessment and deployed extra officers to manage potential gatherings.

“We’ve prepared for a positive outcome for AGF, with additional personnel on standby,” said police inspector Brian Voss Olsen. “We’re aware many fans may have been drinking, and we’ll be present in areas like Åboulevarden, where bars are concentrated.”

While police expect high spirits, Olsen stressed that disorder will not be tolerated: “We won’t accept fights, vandalism, or riots. Celebrate peacefully—show what Aarhus can do when things go well.”

Residents are advised to call 1-1-4 for non-emergency police assistance or 1-1-2 in critical situations.
