Two found dead in house fire in Kurikka
Two people died in a residential house fire in Kurikka, western Finland, on Saturday, reports Finnish public broadcaster Yle.
The victims were discovered inside the single-family home on Vuolteentie, though emergency services have not confirmed whether they were residents of the property.
Firefighters from six units of the South Ostrobothnia Rescue Department responded to the scene, where the house—estimated to have been built between 1970 and 1980—was fully engulfed in flames. Multiple passersby had called emergency services to report the blaze.
The roughly 100-square-metre home sustained severe damage. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
By late afternoon, crews remained at the site for post-fire monitoring. No further details about the victims have been released.
