A large fire broke out at Saltstraumen camping in Nordland, Norway, early Saturday morning, forcing the evacuation of nearby cabins and caravans, according to local police.

The blaze fully engulfed a building at the campsite, with emergency services warning of a high risk of the fire spreading to surrounding caravans, cabins, and forest areas. Police confirmed at 1:23 AM that evacuations were underway for all occupants in the affected zones.

All individuals inside the burning building were safely evacuated and received medical checks on-site, police reported. By 2:03 AM, authorities updated that two people had been taken to hospital and one to an urgent care clinic for further examination. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening, though the extent remains unclear.

Evacuated campers were later allowed to return to their cabins and caravans as the situation stabilised. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
