Three men convicted of severe sexual and violent crimes in Pori
A district court in western Finland has sentenced three men to prison for kidnapping, assault, and rape after luring two victims—a man and a woman—to a remote house where they were subjected to prolonged violence and sexual abuse, Yle reports.
Satakunta District Court handed down lengthy prison terms to two men in their 40s for aggravated deprivation of liberty, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of aggravated rape. One received seven years and three months in prison, while the other was sentenced to six years and three months. A third man was given a suspended sentence of over a year for aiding in the crimes.
The victims, both in their 20s, were coerced into a car in Pori last September before being driven to a detached house in Ahlainen, a rural area outside the city. During the journey, the attackers threatened them with violence and confiscated their bank cards.
At the house, the victims were forced to undress and endured repeated physical abuse, including beatings with fists, kicks, and a metal bar. Both were raped at gunpoint, with one attacker firing a handgun at them during the assaults. One victim was later tied by the neck to a staircase at another location.
One victim managed to escape naked from the house, flagging down a passing vehicle whose occupants alerted emergency services. Police located and freed the second victim shortly after the attack. Both required hospital treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
The trial was held behind closed doors. The court found the victims’ testimonies credible and consistent, supported by partial admissions from the defendants. Authorities initially suspected the crimes may have been linked to a personal dispute.
