Danish police have launched raids against a potentially life-threatening form of cannabis being sold openly in hundreds of kiosks and an online store, Berlingske reports. The operation follows multiple severe poisoning cases linked to products marketed as legal.

The Copenhagen Police action targets what authorities describe as a new “grey market” for cannabis. Products containing high-potency synthetic cannabinoids have been widely available despite being linked to serious health incidents.

Officers conducted inspections at multiple locations after investigations revealed the substances—often labelled as legal alternatives—were causing hospitalisations. The crackdown comes amid growing concerns over unregulated sales of intoxicating cannabis derivatives.
