Norwegian police investigating the suspected murder of 61-year-old Ragge Løkkeberg—missing since February 2024—have followed leads stretching over 1,000 km to Troms, Dagbladet reports.

Løkkeberg was last seen at Innlandet Hospital in Lillehammer on 16 February 2024. Police now believe he was killed, citing digital traces, witness accounts of his movements, and a prolonged absence of any activity.

“The investigation indicates Løkkeberg was murdered,” said Henning Klauseie, police inspector with Innlandet Police District. “We have information suggesting he may have moved through Gudbrandsdalen and the Gjøvik area shortly after his disappearance.”

Witness interviews in Troms—conducted last week—aimed to build a broader picture of Løkkeberg’s personal background. “These individuals had varying contact with him and provided insights into his life,” Klauseie added.

The case involves support from Norway’s National Criminal Investigation Service (Kripos). No remains have been found, and police urge the public to report any discovered body parts or skeletal remains.

Løkkeberg, a Norwegian citizen registered in Grue but residing in Koppom, Sweden, was reported missing in October 2024 after a Swedish insurer failed to locate him following a house fire—his third in 2023. Swedish police closed the arson investigations without charges.
