A construction worker has suffered serious injuries after falling from the fourth floor of a building in Oslo’s St. Hanshaugen district, Norwegian police report.

Emergency services responded Thursday morning to reports of a workplace accident, where a worker fell through a floor from a terrace on the fourth storey, according to Dagbladet. Police estimate the fall was approximately 10 metres.

“Life-saving first aid is currently underway,” Oslo Police stated in an update. Operations manager Gabriel Langfeldt confirmed there is no suspicion of foul play, describing the incident as “a serious accident.”

Police are investigating whether safety regulations for working at height were followed. “We will conduct further examinations to test our hypothesis about how the accident occurred,” Langfeldt told Dagbladet, adding that forensic technicians were at the scene.

Authorities are also providing support to the resident who had hired the worker.
