Sharp drop in diesel and petrol prices at Swedish pumps
Fuel retailers in Sweden have announced significant price cuts for diesel and petrol, reflecting a decline in global oil prices, Swedish public broadcaster SVT reports.
From Thursday, diesel prices will fall by 1.05 Swedish krona per litre, while petrol will drop by 0.50 krona, according to pricing data for corporate customers—an indicator of likely reductions for private motorists as well. After the adjustment, diesel will cost around 21 krona per litre, with petrol priced just above 18 krona.
The price cuts follow a further drop in global oil prices on Thursday, with benchmark crude falling below $100 per barrel amid reports of progress toward a peace agreement between the US and Iran. Before the conflict began on 28 February, diesel was priced at around 17 krona per litre and petrol at 15 krona.
