One person airlifted to hospital after violent incident in Sauda

Police have launched an investigation after a serious assault in Sauda, Rogaland, with one person airlifted to Haukeland University Hospital, Dagbladet reports.

A suspect has been detained and formally charged with attempted murder, according to Sør-Vest police district. Forensic investigators are en route to assist with technical examinations at the scene.

“An adult has been taken for medical treatment and flown by helicopter to Haukeland Hospital,” operations manager Jostein Jaarvik Reiestad confirmed in a statement. The incident was first reported in the police log on Wednesday.

Police have not released further details about the victim’s condition or the circumstances leading to the assault.
