Electricity spot prices to surge sharply Wednesday evening

Electricity exchange prices will rise sharply from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, reaching over 15 cents per kilowatt-hour and remaining relatively high throughout Thursday, reports Finnish public broadcaster Yle.

The highest price spike on Thursday is expected in the evening, with rates climbing to 22–26 cents per kilowatt-hour between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Over the past week, the average spot price has been around 4.5 cents per kilowatt-hour.
