Faroese clothing school expansion remains in limbo
A planned expansion of the clothing school at Glasi in Tórshavn cannot be used for its intended purpose, as agreements with Danish educational institutions have expired, Faroese public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.
The project was designed to serve as an approved vocational training facility, but the Faroese Education and Children’s Council has yet to certify it. The delay stems from the dissolution of partnerships with Danish schools, which have since undergone restructuring or mergers.
“It remains completely unclear whether this will become an approved vocational programme or if it will take another form,” said Bárður á Lakjuni, the Faroese minister responsible for education, who now oversees the case.
The school itself has not addressed the issue, according to the report.
