Suspected airspace violation by drone in southeastern Finland
A drone is suspected of violating Finnish airspace near the Russian border in Virolahti, southeastern Finland, the Finnish Defence Forces reported on Sunday.
According to the military, the Finnish Air Force detected an unmanned aircraft operating in the area during the early hours of Sunday. The drone was flying near the border zone toward Russia before leaving Finnish airspace.
Authorities have not identified the drone’s model or origin. The Finnish Border Guard is investigating the incident and will provide further details as the probe progresses.
