Finland’s spring temperature record has been broken for the third time this week, with Mäntsälä recording 23.7°C on Sunday, according to the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) as reported by STT-Yle.
The previous record of 22°C had been set just a day earlier in the same municipality. Earlier this week, on May Day, the spring record was broken in Salo with a reading of 21.8°C.
Temperatures reached around 20°C in many parts of the country on Sunday. However, a cooldown is expected on Monday, with mostly clear and sunny conditions nationwide. In southern Finland, temperatures may still climb to 16–17°C, while elsewhere—excluding Lapland—readings will hover around 10°C.
