A multi-vehicle collision involving five cars on the Turku motorway in Espoo disrupted traffic toward Turku on Saturday afternoon, according to a report by Finnish public broadcaster Yle.

Emergency services confirmed no serious injuries, though eight people were taken to hospital for evaluation. “No one sustained severe injuries, but several individuals were transported for medical checks,” said Hannu Väänänen, chief of police for Western Uusimaa.

The accident occurred just after 2:30 PM between the Kehä II interchange and the Tuomarila exit. Rescue operations temporarily closed a lane, causing congestion in the Turku-bound direction. Authorities reopened the road to traffic shortly before 4:00 PM.
