Four people were injured, three seriously, in a collision involving multiple motorcycles in Pusula, western Uusimaa, on Saturday afternoon, reports Finnish public broadcaster Yle.

The accident occurred around 3 PM at the Koisjärvi intersection, according to the Western Uusimaa Rescue Department. All four individuals involved were transported to hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest the collision took place when one motorcyclist was turning at the intersection and was struck by another bike. The rider and passenger on the turning motorcycle sustained serious injuries. A third motorcyclist, part of the same group, reportedly turned their bike around after the initial impact and crashed into a ditch roughly 100 metres from the scene, also requiring hospital care.

Western Uusimaa Police confirmed the incident as an intersection collision and are investigating the circumstances. Emergency medical units and rescue personnel assisted at the scene, with bystanders providing initial aid before authorities arrived.

One witness, Juha Tanninen, described finding a motorcyclist who had crashed into a ditch “nose-first” and another rider thrown into a nearby field. At least three ambulances responded to the scene, where rescue crews also directed traffic around the accident site.
