Faroese disability rights organisation awarded for book on waste utilisation

The Faroese disability rights organisation IRF has been awarded the Verdensmålsprisen (Sustainable Development Goal Prize) for its efforts encouraging Faroese residents to repurpose waste, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

The annual prize is presented by Cirkulær, a Danish labour association representing all waste incineration plants in the Kingdom of Denmark. IRF chair Sigurd L. Lamhauge called the recognition a “great honour.”

The organisation has worked systematically to promote waste reuse among Faroese residents, with its latest initiative involving the publication of a book on the subject.
