No plans to build football hall in Tórshavn

The Tórshavn city council currently has no concrete plans to construct an indoor football facility in the capital, according to Heidi Lava Elgeirsdóttir, chair of the council’s culture committee.

Speaking to public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya, Elgeirsdóttir confirmed that funding for such a project is not available. The council did not pursue financial support from the Faroese Football Association, unlike Eysturkommuna and two other municipalities that applied earlier this year.

Elgeirsdóttir suggested cooperation between the majority and opposition factions in the council to prepare a proposal for a future football hall.
