A man in his 20s remains in critical condition after a shooting in Oslo’s Økern district on Sunday afternoon, Norwegian police confirmed Monday morning. No suspects have been charged or detained in connection with the incident.

According to a police press statement, emergency first aid was administered immediately at the scene before the victim was transported to hospital. Authorities have notified his next of kin.

Overnight, one individual was briefly detained and two others questioned in relation to the shooting. All three were released by Monday morning after investigators determined they were not involved. “No one currently holds suspect or charged status in this case,” police stated.

The shooting occurred in a residential area near Lørenbanen, where children and teenagers were playing football at the time. Police conducted an extensive search for one or more perpetrators but reported no ongoing threat to the public.

Witnesses or anyone with information, photos, or video footage are urged to contact authorities.
