First edition of Kalle Anka & Co sells for record 150,600 kronor
A first-edition copy of the 1948 comic Kalle Anka & C:o has sold for 150,600 kronor (approximately €13,300) on the Swedish auction site Tradera, setting a new record, SVT Nyheter reports.
The seller described the issue as having an “unread feel” with vibrant colours, minimal wear, and a near-perfect back cover, grading it as “FN” (fine condition) – a highly sought-after state for collectors. The sale marks the highest price ever paid for a Kalle Anka comic on the platform and the most expensive magazine auction on Tradera in the past decade.
The previous record for a Kalle Anka comic was 85,600 kronor in 2020, also for the debut 1948 issue. Other top-selling Swedish comics in recent years include a 1930 edition of Kronblom (62,000 kronor) and an early Musse Pigg-tidningen (60,505 kronor).
