Finland’s Mighty Arrow military exercise begins in Niinisalo
The Finnish Army’s mechanised Mighty Arrow 26 exercise has commenced in Niinisalo, led by the Armoured Brigade, state news agency STT reports. The drill will continue at the Pohjankangas training and firing range until 9 May.
Around 2,800 personnel are taking part, the majority of them conscripts. An additional 350 participants come from allied nations. The exercise aims to enhance interoperability between mechanised units and allied forces.
Nearly 500 vehicles are involved, and this year’s edition will also utilise multiple types of drones. The exercise is part of Finland’s national defence training programme.
