Frontal train collision in Denmark leaves 17 injured, five critical
A head-on crash between two local trains on the Gribskov line in Denmark has left at least 17 people injured, five of them critically, Danish broadcaster DR reports. Emergency services received the first alert at 6:29 AM local time.
Several of the most severely injured have been airlifted by helicopter to Rigshospitalet, the country’s largest trauma centre. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the collision.
Local residents, many of whom regularly use the route, described the scene as “total chaos” following the incident.
