Oslo airport evacuated after fire alarm in terminal
A fire alarm forced a full evacuation of Norway’s main airport, Oslo Gardermoen, on Thursday, according to airport operator Avinor. Passengers were allowed back inside after 15 minutes when the cause—a cooking incident in a duty-free kiosk—was confirmed.
“It’s correct that there was a fire alarm and an ongoing evacuation,” Avinor press contact Ylva Celius Trulsen told Dagbladet shortly after noon. She later confirmed the alarm was triggered by food preparation in a kiosk serving international flights.
“Essentially the entire terminal was evacuated,” Trulsen said. The disruption lasted approximately 15 minutes before normal operations resumed.
