Southern Norway is set for a stretch of sunny weather with temperatures reaching up to 20°C in some areas, according to forecasts reported by Dagbladet. The warm spell, expected to last from Wednesday through Friday, will bring conditions comparable to cities like Paris, Rome, and Barcelona.

Duty meteorologist Rafael Escobar Løvdal confirmed the unseasonably warm weather, noting that the highest temperatures are forecast for Notodden and Gulsvik. Oslo may also see peaks near 20°C. “At times, it could even be warmer here than in those southern European cities,” he said.

Despite the high air temperatures, Escobar cautioned that cold water temperatures along the coast will make the conditions feel less summer-like than in Mediterranean destinations. “It’s nonsense to compare it directly,” he added.

The meteorologist also warned of elevated UV levels near water, likening the effect to sunbathing with reflective foil. While UV radiation is expected to remain moderate, he advised caution against sunburn.

Meanwhile, northern Norway will see a sharp contrast, with temperatures dropping to around freezing in Troms and Finnmark. “Residents there will likely miss the warmer weather they’ve had recently,” Escobar noted.

The current warm spell is described as a preview of summer, with the meteorologist suggesting that colder conditions in the north will be short-lived.
