Helgi Abrahamsen appointed chair of Faroese finance committee

The Faroese parliament has selected former government minister Helgi Abrahamsen as the new chair of its finance committee, public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.

Abrahamsen, who previously served as minister of labour affairs, will lead the committee responsible for overseeing the Faroe Islands’ financial policies and budgetary matters.

The appointment follows earlier decisions naming Ben Arabo as chair of the labour committee and Súsanna Bertholdsen as chair of the culture committee. The selections were confirmed ahead of the parliament’s next session, which has not yet reconvened.
