Danish pair wins Tórshavnar Bridge Festival 2026

The Danish bridge pair Daniel Bang-Ortmann and Jacob Øland won the Tórshavnar Bridge Festival 2026, the Faroe Islands’ largest annual bridge tournament, held over the weekend in Tórshavn, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

Two Faroese pairs secured spots in the top 10, with Jákup Hjaltalin–Arnbjørn Sivertsen finishing in first place and Arne Mikkelsen–Dánial Pauli Mohr in second. Local favourite Bogi Simonsen and his Danish partner Palle Reimann placed 21st.

Now in its seventh year, the festival has grown into a major spring event, attracting strong international players. The tournament was held at Dansifrøi in Tórshavn.
