A team of 40 specially trained divers has begun exploring the seabed in Aarhus Bay to uncover traces of Stone Age settlements, Danish broadcaster DR reports.

The divers, all certified in marine archaeology, will focus on areas including Begtrup Vig and Kalø Vig. They have completed basic training in underwater documentation, as well as the legal rights and obligations tied to recovering potential finds.

The project is organised in collaboration with Moesgaard Museum, which will oversee the search for remnants of ancient coastal communities now submerged beneath the bay.
