Danish royal twins confirmed in private ceremony at Fredensborg
Danish royal twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine were confirmed in a private ceremony at Fredensborg Palace Church on Saturday, reports DR. The 15-year-olds arrived with their parents, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, along with siblings Prince Christian and Princess Isabella.
The confirmation followed family tradition, taking place in the same church where their older siblings, father, and grandmother Queen Margrethe were also confirmed. Among the guests were Queen Margrethe, Queen Mary’s sister Patricia Bailey, and close family friends, including King Felipe VI of Spain, who serves as Prince Vincent’s godfather.
Photos from the event show the royal family greeting guests on the palace steps before the 11 AM service. Prince Vincent wore a suit with a striped tie, while Princess Josephine chose a long white dress with a lace overlay. Following the ceremony, a luncheon was held at Fredensborg Palace.
The confirmation proceeded as planned despite the recent passing of Queen Mary’s father, John Donaldson, last week. The palace had previously announced the event would go ahead.
