A 35-year-old man accused of murder was detained by police in Oslo while broadcasting live on TikTok, Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet reports.

The suspect is one of three men, aged 32, 35, and 37, arrested in connection with the death of a woman in her 30s. Her body was discovered in an elevator in Oslo’s Grønland district on Saturday morning. All three men, who have prior criminal records, deny involvement in the killing.

Video footage obtained by Dagbladet shows the moment of arrest during the live stream. The suspect is heard saying, “We are live,” before an officer asks how to end the broadcast. Police confirmed the arrests took place on Monday without incident.

The 35-year-old’s defense attorney, Daniel Storrvik, stated his client had a “friendly relationship” with the victim and described the evening before her death as “completely normal.” The suspect has provided police with a detailed account of his movements, according to Storrvik.

A preliminary autopsy report indicates the woman was likely murdered, though police have released few details about the investigation. The three suspects were remanded in custody for four weeks on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old has multiple prior convictions, including for violent crimes, armed robbery, and threats. In 2017, court documents noted his self-description as a former “super-criminal,” a claim judges deemed accurate given his extensive criminal history.

Monica Lindbeck, representing the victim’s family, urged respect for their privacy amid intense media and social media speculation. “The bereaved are in mourning, and the spread of rumors adds an extra burden,” she said.
