Coop supermarkets across Sweden face nationwide payment system failure
Coop stores throughout Sweden are experiencing major payment issues, according to a report by SVT Nyheter. The problem affects the retailer’s mobile payment system, known as Blipp, used for contactless transactions.
Carlos Cancino, Coop’s press chief, confirmed to Aftonbladet that the disruption is nationwide. “The cause is unclear—we are troubleshooting,” he said, adding that the issue stems from a supplier failure.
Customers can still pay using cash or chip-enabled cards, the company stated. SVT Nyheter has reached out to Coop for further comment.
