Johnny Reimer laid to rest in unconventional funeral ceremony

The casket of Danish singer Johnny Reimer was carried out of Helleruplund Church to the sound of his hit song Sikke’n fest on Wednesday, marking what colleagues described as an “unconventional funeral.”

Fellow musician Birthe Kjær, who attended the service alongside other artists, shared details of the ceremony with Danish broadcaster DR. Reimer died on April 4 at the age of 82.

He is survived by his wife Annie, four children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
