Police patrol activity has intensified in the eastern Gulf of Finland as trainee officers conduct exercises in the area, reports Finnish public broadcaster Yle.

The increased visibility follows the start of a basic police boat training course in Kotka earlier this week. Participants will practice maneuvering police patrol boats, light patrol vessels, and jet skis over the coming month, including sessions on Lake Pyhäjärvi in Kouvola.

The training is organized jointly by the Police University College and regional police departments. The exercises are part of standard police maritime education, with no additional context provided on operational changes.
