Danish rail passengers faced widespread cancellations and delays on Thursday after overhead power lines were torn down in multiple locations, national broadcaster DR reports.

Services across the country have been disrupted since Wednesday, with many travellers experiencing long waits. Infrastructure manager Banedanmark stated that while the situation is gradually improving, reduced service and delays will persist.

The damage to the overhead lines has caused significant disruptions to train traffic over the past two days, according to authorities.
