The Faroese Broadcasting Corporation (KVF) will today host a debate on the future of the Faroes’ expanded public transport system, known as the ABC plan, which was implemented last year.

The discussion, part of the radio programme Breddin, will examine whether the broad political consensus behind the transport reforms will hold now that the system is operational. It will also explore how the expanded services are reflected in the government’s current transport policy documents.

Joining the programme are political scientist Hallur av Rana and Jóhann Lútzen, editor of the newspaper Norðlýsið. The debate will be moderated by Birgit Carina Eliasen and Katrin Johannessen and airs at 10:00 local time.

The discussion follows last month’s general election, which saw a new parliament convene for the first time on April 14. The ABC transport plan, introduced in 2025, was previously marked by cross-party cooperation, but its long-term political support remains uncertain.
