Finnish police maintain cordon around drone and warhead discovery site in Iitti
Finnish authorities continue to restrict access to a forested area in Iitti where a drone and a detached warhead were found on Saturday, public broadcaster Yle reports.
The discovery was made in a woodland near Perheniemi village. Police and defence forces confirmed they detonated the drone’s warhead just after 8 PM local time for safety reasons. The area remains cordoned off for technical investigation.
Police reiterate warnings to the public not to touch or approach any drones or drone components found in the terrain. Suspicious findings should be reported immediately by calling the emergency number 112.
