Two teenagers killed in moped collision in southern Denmark
Two boys aged 15 and 16 died in a traffic accident involving three mopeds late last night on Tøndervej south of Skærbæk in Sønderjylland, Danish broadcaster DR reports.
Police received the emergency call at 23:56. “We do not yet know how the accident happened, but it involved three mopeds riding together,” said Ole Aamann, duty officer at the South and South Jutland Police.
Bystanders had already begun first aid when emergency services arrived. Ambulances, trauma doctors, an air ambulance, police patrol cars, and recovery vehicles were dispatched to the scene. The two boys were declared dead at the location.
A 15-year-old girl remains in critical condition following the collision, while a 21-year-old man sustained injuries. Both have been hospitalised. Next of kin have been notified.
The road was closed for several hours as police conducted investigations and cleared the site. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
