The elderly care system in Suðuroy will be centralised at two facilities—one in the north and one in the south of the island—over the coming years, according to a report by Faroese broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya.

The decision is part of a comprehensive plan for the Housing and Home Care Service in Suðuroy, which includes all municipalities on the island. The restructuring aims to streamline services for the elderly population.

Hera Norðberg, director of the Housing and Home Care Service in Suðuroy, confirmed the changes in an interview with the broadcaster.
