Hundreds of litres of oil spill onto ground in Enontekiö cleanup underway
Cleanup operations are in progress after hundreds of litres of oil spilled onto the ground in Karesuvanto, Enontekiö, Finnish Lapland, Yle reports.
The Lapland Rescue Services were alerted to the incident on Wednesday morning at around 6:30 AM local time. The spill originated from a damaged fuel tank on a vehicle parked along the Käsivarrentie road.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact volume of oil released or the extent of environmental impact. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
