The municipality of Vág in the Faroe Islands will unveil its new sustainable tourism plan on Tuesday evening, following approval by the local council last month, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

The plan, developed over the past year, aims to establish responsible tourism built on respect for nature, wildlife, local residents, working life, and culture. Its core objective is to create value and well-being for visitors, locals, and workers while safeguarding the unique qualities of the Vág region.

All Faroese municipalities are required to submit tourism strategies to the national government this year. The Vág council adopted its plan on 26 March, with the public presentation scheduled for 7 April in Miðlatún.
