Easter holiday return traffic in Finland will peak on Monday afternoon, according to estimates from the Fintraffic Road Traffic Centre, with congestion expected to last until evening.

The busiest routes will be Highway 3 (Kolmostie), Highway 4 (Nelostie), and Highway 5 (Vitostie), particularly in southern Finland, where drivers should prepare for delays. Traffic volumes are higher than during winter holidays, Fintraffic noted.

While Monday’s return traffic will be heavy, it will not surpass Maundy Thursday, traditionally the busiest day of Easter for road travel.

The Finnish Meteorological Institute has issued a warning for deteriorating driving conditions due to snow or sleet overnight in North Savo, North Karelia, Kainuu, and western North Ostrobothnia.
