Trauma manager guides response after cyclist struck by bus
A 41-year-old man was seriously injured after being hit by a bus in Copenhagen, requiring trauma manager Søren Rudolph to coordinate emergency care while supporting both the patient and relatives, Danish broadcaster DR reports.
Rudolph, who has handled numerous similar cycling accidents, stressed the importance of maintaining focus and avoiding routine in high-pressure medical situations. The incident was documented as part of DR’s series Med livet i hænderne (With Lives in Their Hands), filmed at Rigshospitalet, Denmark’s largest trauma centre.
The programme, produced by Emil Rostrup Hansen and Ida Meesenburg, follows medical teams as they respond to critical injuries.
