Heavy Easter return traffic expected on Finnish roads
Finnish roads will remain busy with Easter holiday traffic on Sunday, with the peak of return journeys forecast for late afternoon and evening, according to public broadcaster Yle.
The heaviest outbound traffic was recorded on Saturday, with congestion expected to continue between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday, particularly on routes leaving the Helsinki metropolitan area. Traffic may stay heavy later into the evening on northern roads.
Fintraffic’s road traffic centre warns of potential delays on major highways, including Ring Road I (Kehä I), Highway 4 (E75), Highway 5 (E18), and Highway 9 between Jyväskylä and Mikkeli.
Return traffic is expected to intensify on Sunday evening, with the busiest period predicted for Monday between noon and 8 p.m.
