Woman charged with attempted murder after knife attack in northern Norway
A woman in her 30s has been charged with attempted murder following a serious knife attack in Karlsøy municipality, Troms, northern Norway, police confirmed Thursday.
According to a police statement reported by Dagbladet, two people—identified as cohabiting partners at the same address—were found with severe stab wounds. The woman, now in custody, is receiving medical treatment for her injuries, while the victim’s condition remains critical but unconfirmed.
A third person present in the home was unharmed, police said. Authorities were alerted to the incident at 04:37 AM by the uninjured witness. An investigation is underway.
Karlsøy municipality has activated its psychosocial crisis team to support those affected, said Aina Isaksen, the municipality’s personnel and organisation director. “The team is providing assistance based on the needs and wishes of those involved,” she told Dagbladet.
