A fire that destroyed a converted dairy building in Lieto, southwestern Finland, overnight is believed to have been deliberately set, according to police.

The historic building, constructed in the 1920s, had been renovated into residential apartments and commercial space, reports Finnish public broadcaster Yle. The blaze broke out late on Wednesday night, and authorities are now treating the incident as suspected arson.

Investigators have not yet released further details about potential motives or suspects. The case remains under active investigation.

The former dairy, a landmark in the area, had undergone extensive renovations before the fire. The extent of the damage has not been officially confirmed.
