Farmer gives away tons of potatoes because they’re too ugly for sale

An organic farmer in central Denmark is offering 40 tons of free potatoes to the public after they were rejected by retailers for cosmetic reasons, reports DR.

Jakob Gammelgaard, who farms in Bording, Midtjylland, says the potatoes—though slightly misshapen—are perfectly edible. The organic produce was discarded during packaging due to minor surface imperfections, despite having no internal flaws.

Gammelgaard has already distributed several tons to locals, with the remaining stock available for anyone to collect.
