The Trade Union of Education in Finland (OAJ) has issued a strike warning to Turku University of Applied Sciences, marking the third higher education institution threatened with a 24-hour walkout, reports public broadcaster Yle.

The strike is scheduled for April 14 unless a resolution is reached before then. Earlier warnings were issued to Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (April 8) and Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK, April 9).

OAJ stated the warnings follow employer proposals in collective bargaining talks that would weaken working conditions. Negotiations with Sivista, the employers’ association for the education sector, concluded without agreement on March 23, and the current contract will expire at the end of March.

All planned strikes are set to last one full day.
