Danish lamb meat sees record sales as demand doubles
Demand for Danish lamb meat has surged, with retailers reporting sales more than doubling compared to previous years, according to national broadcaster DR.
Supermarkets and butchers across the country have seen a sharp rise in purchases, with some shops struggling to keep up with demand. “We’ve sold twice as much as usual,” one retailer told DR, attributing the spike to increased consumer interest in locally produced meat.
The trend follows broader shifts in buying habits, as more Danes opt for domestic products over imports. Industry representatives suggest the rise may also reflect seasonal preferences, with lamb becoming a popular choice for autumn meals.
