Father and daughter both vote for women in Faroese election
A father and daughter in the Faroe Islands’ Oyndarfjørður have both chosen to vote for female candidates in this year’s parliamentary election, though not the same one, Kringvarp Føroya reports.
Høgni Hansen, who also voted for a woman in the 2022 election, said he made his choice because too few women enter politics. His daughter, Rannvá Høgnadóttir Hansen, likewise selected a female candidate—just not the same one her father backed.
The two were among voters interviewed in Oyndarfjørður ahead of the 2026 Faroese general election.
