Sjúrður Skaale thanks voters after narrow election defeat
Sjúrður Skaale, the top vote-getter in the Faroese parliamentary election, visited the People’s Party headquarters in Tórshavn on Friday to thank supporters for their votes, Kringvarp Føroya reports.
Skaale, representing the Social Democratic Party, received more individual votes in the Klaksvík constituency than any other candidate—including the entire People’s Party slate combined. Despite his strong personal result, he announced he would not seek a seat in the Løgting (Faroese Parliament).
“I don’t expect everyone to come back to us,” Skaale joked during his visit to the People’s Party offices in the old Miðlahúsið building.
