The election committee chair in Nes municipality on the Faroe Islands has taken unusual precautions by sealing ballots three separate times before sending them to the capital Tórshavn, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

Ballots from Nes are due to arrive in Tórshavn on Thursday evening. Andrias Magnussen, the local election committee chair, stated he would not leave the ballots unattended and would seal them three times—rather than once or twice—before dispatch.

The measure follows heightened scrutiny of electoral procedures in the Faroese parliamentary election.
