Finnish government proposes new tools for housing cooperatives to address disturbances
The Finnish government has submitted a proposal to parliament to amend the Limited Liability Housing Companies Act, giving housing cooperatives stronger measures to intervene in residential disturbances, the Ministry of Justice announced on Tuesday.
Under the proposed changes, housing cooperatives would gain the authority to address recurring disruptions caused by outsiders visiting the property or its surrounding areas. The reforms would also allow electronic delivery of warnings and decisions related to property management takeovers, streamlining communication with shareholders and tenants.
The amendments are expected to take effect in autumn, pending parliamentary approval.
